This bathelor's thesis deals with development of application called Interactive tourist guide for Android platform. It explains draft and implementation of the application that by using augmented reality displays on a mobile device display information about objects that are lying around. Also describes problems of using embedded sensors of mobile devices with Android operation system. Also deals with problems of displaying OpenGL graphics using OpenGL ES libraries.

Paris in the French, Czech and American tourist guidebooks (1918-1939)

in English This Master's Thesis deals with guidebooks about Paris published in France, Czechoslovakia and the United States of America between the years 1918-1939. It analyses how the French capital city is presented in the guidebooks and how far the representation differs according to the country of publishing. The first two chapters deal with the modern history of tourism up until the interwar period and with the formation of major collections of guidebooks. The following chapters use a comparative perspective to analyse three major aspects of tourist guidebooks about Paris: itineraries; recommended places and monuments (the so-called "must- sees"); and global images of Paris. The analysis reveals that the country of publishing had only a limited impact on the content of the guidebooks; rather, the books largely respected established rules and patterns within the genre. The translated text is a part of the travel guide Turquie de l'ouest et mer Noire, specifically sections about Turkish society, politics, religion and economy. The travel guide was published by French Publisher Hachette in edition Guides Bleus Évasion and was written by traveller Astrid Lorber. The first part of the commentary is an analysis of the source text, the second part presents the method of translation and the typology of translation problems. iBeacon - New Technology in Retailing and Tourism

The purpose of this bachelor work is a proposal for the use of iBeacon technology for a specific subject and the subsequent costing for implementation of this technology. The particular purpose is the analysis of IBeacon technology focusing on the sector of trade and tourism. The academic part is dedicated to the description of iBeacon and analysis of potential uses in trade and tourism; it includes a comparison with other technologies, acceptance of the innovation by customers and specifications of selected technologies used in examined sectors. Practical part consists of five case studies. A proposal for the implementation of this technology in city of Pisek is put together based on the obtained information. Part of the thesis is a calculation that enumerates expenses for the implementation of the concept for one year and a list of potential benefits for the city.

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to create a German-Czech translation and to complete it with a commentary. The translated text consists of selected chapters from the website www.daenemark-reiseguide.de, where tourist information about Denmark can be found. The first part of the commentary includes a translation analysis of the original text. Based on the analysis is deduced the translation method, which affects further translation process and the way of solving specific translation problems. Large part of the commentary describes lexicological problems, especially problems with translation of the geographical names and of the Danish life and institutions. The commentary is concluded by a chapter about thematic shifts.

It is divided into the theoretical and the practical part. In the theoretical part is mainly characterized the term "guide" as a kind of publications, there are indicated its linguistic unusualnesses, the guide types are underlined and characterized. The practical part serves as a guide to Dvur Kralove nad Labem and its surroundings. It also includes the evaluation of the questionnaire investigation among visitors of the city and its surroundings. The useful links are included as appendixes.
